After School: S•M•Art Labs

Youth meet local Scientists, Engineers, and Artists while exploring diverse STEM fields and making art. Labs are open to everyone and use authentic experiments and equipment to set up science labs and art studios in the classrooms, fields, woods, and trails of Berkshire county.

A young engineer from SBRSD shows off his knowledge of electrical circuits with a breadboard he made with Lili Atanacio.

After School: MakerSpaces

What is a MakerSpace? It’s a place where children of all ages can explore hands-on creative ways to design, experiment, build and invent as they deeply engage in science and engineering. Youth learn to 3D print, design MagLev vehicles, and program robots with Flying Cloud experts.

After School: Girls science clubs

Open to all female and non-binary identified youth, Girls Science Clubs explore hands-on science and engineering while building their identity as STEM-capable learners and leaders to close the gender gap in STEM. Youth work with local Scientists and Engineers and do hands-on science investigations and engineering challenges.

Vacation Break: Flying Cloud & Greenagers

Flying Cloud Partners with Greenagers to offer science, art, and nature programs over the school breaks at April Hill Education and Conservation Center in South Egremont. Youth work collaboratively to build birdhouses, explore the physics of bubbles, make original arcade games, and learn about their natural world.

Half Days and Field Trips

Flying Cloud educators bring Science and Art to life in half day programs, sharing the best of after school and school residency projects like building oscilloscopes to explore sounds waves and learning about the Laws of Motion with original derby vehicles. Flying Cloud also hosts field trips to the Berkshire Innovation Center where youth get to see 3D printers and do engineering challenges like making their own wind turbine blades.
